NEW YORK — Following Thursday evening’s attack in Nice, France, that left at least 80 dead and countless others injured, the Rabbinical Assembly, the international association for Conservative/Masorti rabbis, released the following statement:
We are stunned and horrified by this latest terrorist attack in France. That this devastating attack came on Bastille Day, a national holiday celebrating liberty, magnifies its horror. Our prayers and sympathies to the families of the victims and the wounded, as we once again stand in solidarity with the French people.
We join the international community in condemning this senseless attack, we pray for healing for those wounded, and we demand that all those responsible be brought to justice.
As we read in the Sabbath Hashkivenu prayer, “May God protect our comings and goings for life and peace, now and forever.”
May the memories of the victims be a blessing to those who loved and cherished them, to all of France and to all who seek peace.

Nous sommes surpris et horrifiés par cette dernière attaque terroriste en France. Que cette attaque dévastatrice s’est passé pendant Le Jour de Bastille, un jour férié célébrant la liberté nationale, magnifie son horreur. Nous exprimons nos prières et nos condoléances aux familles des victimes et des blessés, alors que nous sommes encore une fois en solidarité avec le peuple français.
Nous nous joignons à la communauté internationale pour condamner cette attaque insensée, nous prions pour la guérison pour des blessés, et nous exigeons que tous les responsables soient traduits en justice.
