Earlybird registration is now open for our 2023 Conservative/Masorti Shabbaton & Convening--T'nuah B'yahad: Building our Movement Together.
Shabbaton - December 1-2, 2023
Convening - December 3-5, 2023
Location: Baltimore Marriott Waterfront
We will gather around our shared values with others who care about the future of Conservative/Masorti Judaism: rabbis, cantors, Jewish professionals, congregational leaders, synagogue members, Conservative/Masorti leaders, teens, young adults, and more!
At our Convening we will hear from scholars, experts, and professionals who will offer us tools for action, share our diverse perspectives and experiences, and work together to build our Conservative/Masorti Movement.
- LEARN models and approaches to take home and use to strengthen our own communities
- FEEL a sense of hope and enthusiasm for the future of our communities and the Conservative/Masorti movement as a whole
- DEEPEN our understanding of the value and role of the Conservative/Masorti movement for ourselves as individuals, as representatives of organizations and congregations, and in the broader world
- RENEW our investment in our home institutions
Above all else, take this opportunity to reminisce and reconnect with old friends, make new ones, and get away to enjoy this time with your extended family from all over the world. Spend Shabbat immersed in spirited and soulful prayer, enriching Torah study, and deep and meaningful connection with friends and colleagues. There is nothing like having this time together with so many people of different backgrounds who all share each other’s love and passion for Conservative/Masorti Judaism.
Requests for Proposals
We invite you to share your proposal for a session during the convening from Sunday-Tuesday. Click here to read more about what types of proposals we are looking for as we build our program. The deadline to submit a proposal is June 1st, 2023.
A Note on Pricing and Expenses
Registration and pricing information is here. We recognize that our participant come from a variety of backgrounds and financial circumstances. We are grateful to our generous sponsors whose contributions allow us to offer the general registration ($699 for Convening, $999 for Shabbaton & Convening) at a rate that is about 60% of our actual cost per person. Even then, we recognize that with the costs of travel, hotel, and registration, it can be prohibitively expensive for some to attend.
For that reason, we are offering a need-based pricing structure that allows for a limited number of registrations at an even more subsidized rate ($499 for Convening, $799 for Shabbaton & Convening). Simultaneously, we are asking those who are able to register at the sustainer rate ($899 for Convening, $1,199 for Shabbaton & Convening) to help enable our friends and colleagues to attend at a cost that works for them.
Registration at the subsidized rate is limited, so please only register at this price if you have a financial need. We are grateful for your generosity of spirit in making these decisions.
For questions, please contact Max Arad, Convening Director.
We are so excited to spend these days together.
