High Holidays Task Force Resources

The High Holidays will be different than any we've ever experienced before. But with new challenges come new opportunities. In that light, the cross movement High Holiday Task Force, which our Rabbinical Assembly is a part of, is offering a comprehensive and continually updated list of resources, best practices, innovations, and ideas.

The list is divided into the following sections:

  • Reopening: Find resources for reopening including templates and examples of synagogue communication.
  • Operations/Technology: Learn about best practices related to synagogue buildings and general operations, as well as technological innovations.
  • Membership/Messaging: Get information on how synagogues can maintain their membership and best communicate with their constituents.
  • Finance: Find guidance on synagogue finances, budgeting, and fundraising in preparation for and during the high holidays.
  • Education/Programming: Find recommendations for how synagogues should handle high holiday programming and educational offerings.
  • Ritual: Learn about innovations in high holiday ritual and spiritual offerings to bring added depth and meaning.

The High Holiday Task Force is also reviewing and posting select High Holiday plans, best practices, policies and procedures. Submissions are easily done using this Google form. The form allows you to upload documents in PDF format. There is tremendous talent within our community and we hope you choose to participate!

Additionally, a working group of cross-movement groups has published a Guide to the Considerations about Re-opening Synagogue Buildings. The re-opening tools within are meant to be used as templates for your individual decision-making process.
