Next Steps for Rabbinic Search

Once your questionnaire is live on the RA site, rabbinic candidates will submit a resume and have the option of submitting a cover letter. All submission of their documents is done electronically and will be sent to the person designated by the congregation. When you register, you will set your congregational main contact and secondary contact, who will receive rabbinic resumes directly through the RA system.

There is no limit to the amount of candidates that you may invite to for an interview. This includes Interview Week, for which you can invite as many students as you see during the week. Research shows, however, that it is best and most effective to limit final choices to 3 at a time. The congregation is responsible for reimbursing the candidate for all travel and related expenses in a timely fashion. Interview Week to interview graduating rabbis, the deadline is usually in mid-January.

Upon registering for placement, you automatically receive Rabbi Schoenberg’s book, Aliyah: A Congregation's Rabbinic Search Guide, that will help guide you through the process. If you have further questions, please contact Emily Hendel, Director of Career Services.
