Statement on Las Vegas Mass Shooting

On the night of October 1, 2017, a gunman opened fire on a crowd of concert goers on the Las Vegas Strip, killing over 58 and injuring over 500 people.

The Rabbinical Assembly is horrified by the senseless and brutal attack on the hundreds attending a country music festival in Las Vegas. It is with a heavy heart that we mourn the tragic loss of life of those who were murdered and injured in what is now the most deadly mass shooting in American history.

We send our full support and love to all those affected by this cowardly act and to the many synagogues and rabbis living in the area. Together, we continue to pray for unity and for "love and companionship, peace and friendship" to be planted throughout our country.

We ask not only for your prayers, but for your actions as well. We encourage all who are capable to donate blood through the American Red Cross.

May the memory of the deceased be a blessing, and we pray for a refuah shleimah to the hundreds wounded.
