On Eve of First Israel Visit, RA Offers Thanks to Canadian Prime Minister

NEW YORK – As Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper prepares for his first trip to Israel, the Rabbinical Assembly today offered a statement thanking him for his unwavering support of Israel. RA representatives Rabbi Philip Scheim, Rabbi Howard Morrison, and Rabbi Jarrod Grover, all of Toronto, will join the Prime Minister’s delegation next week.

Rabbi Philip Scheim, RA treasurer said,

 “We are grateful to Prime Minister Harper for his steadfast and outspoken support of Israel. He has stood by Israel constantly throughout his eight years in office, and we know his first visit there will be a meaningful one.”

Rabbi Julie Schonfeld, RA executive vice president said,

“We are thrilled that RA representatives from Toronto, Rabbi Philip Scheim of Beth David B’nai Israel Beth Am Congregation, Rabbi Howard Morrison of Beth Emeth Bais Yehuda, and Rabbi Jarrod Grover of Beth Tikvah Synagogue will join the Prime Minister’s delegation. We look forward to this visit further solidifying the special relationship between the Jewish community in Canada and Israel.”
