Dear Friends:
The Rabbinical Assembly strengthens the Conservative/Masorti movement by supporting rabbis around the world. It is in the day-to-day resources that our RA provides to rabbis that we see its vital work. The over 1650 members of our Rabbinical Assembly bring their Torah and leadership to a variety of settings: schools, organizations, college campuses, chaplaincies, nonprofits, and, of course, synagogues. Our RA staff and our RA members continue to expand the ways that we can be of support and provide valuable professional resources to the many organizations served.
One of the people who has volunteered his time and lent his leadership to thinking about how our RA can continue to support the Jewish world is the esteemed rabbi, Harold Kravitz. As President of our RA, he led not from the front, but always in the midst of the Rabbinical Assembly, by fostering real relationships. He helped push our professional organization forward by clarifying the values that would guide us into the future and reimagining "the" RA as "our" RA. As Chair of the Va'ad Hakavod he placed ethics at the center of what it means to be an RA-affiliated rabbi. Innumerable congregations and members have benefited from Rabbi Kravitz's wise words and genuine concern.
Because of leaders like Rabbi Kravitz, the RA has been able to:
• Publish the new Lev Shalem Siddur for Weekdays.
• Establish a new, best in field, Code of Professional Conduct.
• Convene supportive cohorts for colleagues.
• Advance rabbinic professional skills through continuing education opportunities.
• Bring colleagues together in person and online for learning and bonding, including our Celebrating 40 Years of Women in the Rabbinate conference.
• Provide leadership in the larger Jewish world and a strong voice in Israel that advocates for our movement and its Torah.
Not only is this year's annual campaign in Rabbi Kravitz's honor, but we will be establishing the Rabbi Harold J. Kravitz Leadership and Strategic Planning Fund which will provide leadership training for staff and volunteer leaders and ensure mission-driven growth and sustainability.
If you have supported the Rabbinical Assembly in the past, thank you! Please consider matching or increasing your support this year. If you have not contributed in the past, please know that every gift matters.
