Annual Campaign 5781 (vaHai Bahem)

Through this year's annual appeal, we are proud to honor Rabbi Pamela Barmash and Rabbi Elliot Dorff for their career contributions and leadership of our Rabbinical Assembly's Committee on Jewish Law and Standards (CJLS), particularly during the pandemic. Rabbis Barmash and Dorff have inspired so many with their teaching in the classroom and through their influential publications.

As we are all impacted - directly or indirectly - by their incredible work, we invite you to support our campaign in their honor with a donation. We understand the present economic crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic has impacted many members of our community. Every gift (no matter how small) helps, so please give what you can and spread the word!

Your support through this campaign will allow us to fund the important work of our RA, including these CJLS projects:

Producing study materials for a global Day of Halakhic Study
Creating educational materials for 10 CJLS teshuvot
Providing mentorship/training for rabbinical students and new rabbis in teshuvah writing
Hiring an intern to assist in publishing CJLS teshuvot from 1980-2020 on Sefaria, an online open source free content digital library of Jewish texts.

An online event in celebration of Rabbis Barmash and Dorff will be held during our 2021 Virtual Convention. We are delighted that musical talents Rabbi Aviva Funke, Craig Taubman and Rabbi Josh Warshawsky have agreed to participate in the event, and highly encourage you to attend. A link will be provided to all donors prior to the event.

Additionally, if you are interested in joining our Annual Appeal Host Committee, please indicate so on our form below. Host Committee members are expected to pledge to make a gift at any level, attend the event in honor of Barmash and Dorff at our Convention, and recruit at least three donors. We also encourage committee members to share our campaign with their social networks. You do not need to be an RA member to join the committee.
