WHEREAS the members of the Rabbinical Assembly have been in the forefront of establishing institutions of our movement both in ארץ ישראל (the land of Israel) and worldwide;

WHEREAS members of the Rabbinical Assembly have committed themselves to promoting our movement in Israel and throughout the world through their sacred service and through the gathering of financial resources;

WHEREAS members of the Rabbinical Assembly are committed to a strong presence of our movement inמולדתינו  ארץ (our historic homeland); and

God took the man and placed him in the Garden of Eden, to till it and tend it. (Gen. 2:15)

Whereas the Rabbinical Assembly has passed 13 resolutions since 1991 on protecting and enhancing the environment and the quality of life for all God’s creatures;

Whereas climate change can be attributed to human activity with 90% certainty;*

WHEREAS the Rabbinical Assembly was a founding partner of COEJL (Coalition on the Environment and Jewish Life) has articulated the Jewish responsibility to address global climate change and work towards an environmentally responsible energy policy on a personal, communal, and national level with 14 resolutions since 1991 on protecting and enhancing the environment and the quality of life for all God’s creatures;

“These are the deeds that yield immediate fruit and continue to yield fruit in the world to come: honoring parents, doing deeds of lovingkindness, making peace between one person and another and the study of Torah is the most basic of them all.” (Mishnah Peah)

Whereas the global economy is currently in crisis, millions of people have lost their jobs or are in danger of losing their jobs, and food prices have escalated worldwide;
