Executive Assistant and Office Manager

The Executive Assistant will be responsible for providing administrative and strategic support to Rabbi Ashira Konigsburg, COO of the Rabbinical Assembly. They will also serve as the office manager for the Rabbinical Assembly office and provide additional general support as needed.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Project Management 

  • Project management for public policy and volunteer led committees 
  • Lead administrative support for governance work of organization, including taking and maintaining meeting minutes
  • Screen and redirect, prioritize, and/or respond to mail, e-mail, voicemail and appointment and information requests
  • Acts as lead for special projects at the request of the COO
  • Anticipate the COO’s needs and proactively bring together appropriate people and other resources to support the COO in addressing issues

Administrative Support

  • Schedules, coordinates, and organizes complex activities such as meetings, travel, conferences and events
  • Manages COO’s complex executive level calendar
  • Responsible for booking travel for senior staff when necessary (flights, trains, car rides, hotels, etc.)
  • Conducts research when necessary
  • Performs other duties or assignments as necessary

Office Manager

  • Developing remote systems for increasingly hybrid office (vendor management, project management
  • Maintain organizational calendar
  • Maintains cleanliness of office
  • Orders office supplies as needed
  • Liaises with building facilities
  • Schedules and organizes staff meetings
  • Answers central office phone calls and emails
  • Performs other duties or assignments as necessary

Work Environment

This is a hybrid role. The candidate must be able to work 2-3 days/week out of the Rabbinical Assembly office in Morningside Heights, NY 


  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • An equivalent of 2 years or more in a similar role preferred.
  • Ability to manage and execute numerous projects simultaneously, determine priorities, and follow through independently on tasks and assignments.
  • Highly organized, self sufficient, intuitive, and detail oriented
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion when dealing with sensitive information
  • Excellent writing and communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google suite
  • Flexible and willing to work as part of a team
  • Facility with project management and CRM systems a plus
  • Knowledge of Hebrew, passion for Jewish life and culture a plus


Salary range $55,000-$65,000 plus excellent benefits including health insurance and pension matching.

About the Rabbinical Assembly:

The Rabbinical Assembly, first established in 1901 by graduates of the rabbinical school of the Jewish Theological Seminary, is the international association of Conservative/Masorti rabbis. Today its ranks include rabbis ordained at the seminaries of the Conservative/Masorti movement as well as rabbis of other accredited rabbinical schools who accept the tenets of Conservative Judaism. Its nearly 1,700 members serve as congregational rabbis, educators, military and hospital chaplains, professors of Judaica, and officers of communal service organizations throughout the world.
