Our RA’s 2023 Outdoor & Writing Retreat

Building off the success of our inaugural outdoor retreat at Ramah Darom in 2019, we are excited to announce Our RA’s 2023 Outdoor & Writing/Creativity Retreat to take place at Ramah in the Rockies this August. 

Join with fellow outdoor enthusiast colleagues to enjoy breathtaking views as we hike the trails at camp and surrounding areas amidst the beauty of the Rocky Mountains. This retreat is about spending quality time with colleagues over a shared passion for the outdoors while setting aside time each afternoon away from the distractions of home for deep and thoughtful writing or planning. We recognize that August can be a stressful time to take off regardless of your rabbinate. We will build a few hours into the program each day to do personal work, be it on sermon writing, lesson planning, writing your book, or whatever obligations are on your agenda. 

Early registrants will have the opportunity to lend their voice as we plan the details of the retreat. 

This retreat is subsidized by Our RA. Space is limited to a small group - first come first served. Cost is $500 for a shared room for four nights (Sunday, August 20 - Thursday, August 24). Participants need to arrive in Denver by Sunday night, where we will have a block of double rooms available at a hotel near the airport (included in registration fee). We will depart early Monday morning so we have a full day of activities. 

A short note on the physical demands of this program: None of the activities themselves will require extensive hiking experience and relative novices are welcome. However the altitude at which the activity occurs necessitates that all participants be in fairly strong aerobic shape to withstand the physical toll that even a relatively moderate hike can take at a high altitude.
