Re-envisioning the Rabbinate: Looking Back, Looking Ahead

A Conference for the men and women of the RA as we celebrate together the 30th anniversary of women's ordination

Join us for these two days in April when we will daven and learn together, discuss the big issues of our rabbinates in a series of breakout sessions, consider the impact of women's ordination on our movement and the Jewish community, schmooze, reminisce and celebrate!

Chancellor Arnold Eisen will chair the conference’s opening panel, followed by a keynote “Mother-Daughter Dialogue:  Women and Judaism – How far have we come, where are we now, what’s ahead?” with author and co-founder of Ms. Magazine Letty Cottin Pogrebin and Abigail Pogrebin, author of Stars of David and “The Wondering Jew”, a current series in The Forward.

The opening of the conference will be preceded by limmud sessions and the Rabbinical Assembly’s Annual Meeting and will be followed by the JTS Convocation at which honorary doctorates will be awarded to our RA colleagues ordained in 1986 and 1987.
