Throughout the Covid pandemic, Masorti rabbis in Israel, as around the world, have been heroes, keeping our kehillot functioning with love and profound meaning. Supporting our RA rabbis in Israel is an ongoing and daunting challenge, now made even more difficult by expected government changes. Despite severe economic strains, the Masorti Movement continues to provide over $600,000 annually in support of rabbinic compensation – all through tireless fundraising efforts in Israel and overseas.
Your support at this uncertain time is vital in ensuring that we can maintain our rabbis in the field. From kehillot to the Kotel, the NOAM youth movement to bar and bat mitzvah for children with special requires – Israel needs and wants our approach to Judaism more than ever. Your contribution to the RA Masorti Campaign is a gift to the Jewish and democratic identity of Israel. Our efforts will supplement the generous donations of JFNA and others, while also helping with the essential ongoing needs of Masorti.
This year’s RA campaign is in honor of our colleague, Alan Silverstein, who retired last year after 42 years of leadership, inspiration and lasting impact on the Jewish world as a whole, and on the Conservative Movement in particular.
