Conservative Rabbis Condemn Brussels Attacks, Pray for Victims

NEW YORK - In the wake of the terrorist attacks in Belgium Tuesday morning and reports that ISIS is now claiming responsibility for these horrific murders, the Rabbinical Assembly, the international association for Conservative/Masorti rabbis, released the following statement:

We are horrified by Tuesday's abhorrent and senseless attacks on innocent people, which left at least 31 people dead and scores of others injured in three bombings in Brussels. We join the international community in condemning these attacks, and urge all political and religious leaders to join together in the fight against incitement and terrorism. As we read in Psalm 94, 'For justice shall return to the rule of law and all who are upright will rally to it.'

The Conservative/Masorti movement in Europe and around the world mourns the victims and stands together in solidarity with their bereaved families. May the memory of those who were killed be a blessing. And we pray for a refuah shlemah, a complete healing, for those who were injured.
