Health Care

Jewish tradition asserts the importance of providing for the health of community members and ensuring that every person has access to medical care (e.g. BT Gittin 61a, Shulhan Arukh Yoreh De’ah 249, Tzitz Eliezer 5:40).  In accordance with this principle the RA offers a Community Health Insurance Program, which provides insurance to rabbis, cantors, employees, and families of Conservative synagogues and institutions.  The RA also has a source sheet with teachable information about health care and a list of resolutions addressing health care in the United States.
